In life, we get to celebrate numerous milestones, birthdays being top of the list… In businesses, we celebrate decades of growth… in non-profit organisations it is unique to celebrate a quarter of a century. In October 2019, trustees, donors, employees, parents, school principals, scholars and alumni gathered to celebrate a special achievement – a quarter of a century of enabling access to quality education.
The venue was filled with nostalgic laughter, sharing of memories, stories of past and making toasting to the next decade to come. The special moments and speeches were captured by Ian Kilbride and Tessa de Beer Smit, Trustees and Founders of the Spirit Education Foundation. An address on behalf of the scholars was given by Dillon Sibanda, who shared his experience of being a Spirit Scholar as well as Sisanda Magadlala, a Spirit Education Foundation Alumnus, who gave her thanks and appreciation for what it meant to receive quality education through the foundation’s financial assistance and mentorship.
The past 25 years would not have been possible without the loyal support of our donors. A special thanks to all who have partnered with us over the past 25 years and believed in our mission to build our nation through education, one scholar at a time. We raise our glasses to the success of our ever-developing country, to the transformation that has occurred in education, to the principals who embrace diversity and change and to the Spirit Education Foundation for reaching above and beyond. Here’s to the next decade… may it be as fruitful in laughter, memories and success as the past quarter of a century.
